The Dalby Forest is one of the few places in the UK where you can experience a truly dark sky. White Lodge Farm is on the edge of Dalby Forest and we share this very dark sky. We have had a telescope which we share with our holiday cottage guests for three years but this summer we built an observatory to house a new telescope allows us to do astrophotography of deep space objects such as nebulae and galaxies. With this set up we can also do “Electronically Assisted Astronomy” which allows you to see objects which would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye using conventional visual astronomy.
